SouthFest 2010

September 10th and 11th

Friday - 4pm to 10pm

Saturday - 11am to 10pm

Welcome to the online home of Kenosha's #1 Community Festival. SouthFest is the only festival in Kenosha of its size that is inspired and controlled by members of the community. SouthFest began in 2006 as an effort to strengthen the bonds between neighbors and the community at large. It is well known that a community with a strong sense of pride and active citizenry is less likely to fall victim to crime and blight.

Funds raised beyond the cost of operating the festival are used to support the operations of the Kenosha Progress Fund and the numerous projects and programs that it supports. While you are visiting us today, please consider making an affordable donation to help us continue making SouthFest a Kenosha tradition.

ENTERTAINMENT LINE-UP

Friday, September 10th, 4 to 10pm

4PM to 5PM

Music Mix

Enjoy some classic rock and contemporary favorites while settling in for an evening of fun and exciting entertainment.

5PM to 7PM

Click here to hear a few songs by the Karlz

You can forget what you’ve heard about any of these trendy new guitarist /drummer duos such as The White Stripes, The Raveonettes and The Black Keys.

That’s because there’s a new twosome in town known as The Karlz. And these two veteran musicians are guaranteed to raise the roof off your club or next event.  The Karlz consist of vocalist/guitarist Todd Bowie and drummer Doug Corel la. One of the duo’s primary goals is not to win anyone over with their own material (which they certainly have plenty of), but rather instead to play rousing, energetic cover versions of songs both old and new that appeal to a vast audience.

Between the two they’ve toured around the world with the likes of The Eagles,

Fleetwood Mac, Beck, The Flaming Lips and the Verve Pipe.

7:30PM to 10PM

Vertigo USA

Vertigo USA is an incredible live tribute to U2. In sight and sound, Vertigo recreates the magic that is a U2 concert. The attention to detail is well beyond what most people expect. Much like The Beatles tribute acts that perform with costumes representing the various eras of The Beatles' career, Vertigo has taken the same approach with their tribute to U2.

A Vertigo concert borders on a Broadway production. Onstage you will see much of the same musical equipment U2 uses to create their signature sound, as well as costumes, backdrops, and special effect lighting. Some shows at larger venues have included video production and a belly dancer taking the tribute show to new heights. A typical Vertigo concert will have the audience singing along to hits such as "With Or Without You," "Where The Streets Have No Name," "One," "Beautiful Day," and many other anthems spanning the U2 catalog. From "Boy" to "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb," Vertigo has it covered.
